So LIFE THROUGH FOOD is now available for you to download!
I’ve been working on this project for a few months now and I can honestly say it has been one of the most enjoyable things I have ever worked on.
While the main reason I wanted to put this together was to create a new conversation on my social media around the effect simple cooking can have on your connection to life, I also wanted to do it to challenge the concept of content.
The world of blogging tends to value numbers over creativity and social influence over new ideas. While having my work accessible to many is important to me, when one person messages me to say they used a cake recipe of mine to bake something for their partner or parent, it means more to me than what a thousand likes ever could.
So I wanted this eBook to be a conversation starter to how food can connect you to life, because that’s why I started this blog in the first place. I loved food and I loved writing about how food connected me to the world and my life.
Life Through Food returns to this conversation.
I love cookbooks. Reading them is a hobby of mine and I wanted to find a way I could combine my love for food writing and the beautiful art of food photography together in a no-pressure package that was available to everybody for free.
So the challenge of putting this project together was one I was so excited to take on.
Through writing this document I was not only able to exercise some creative connections and write in ways that I have wanted to read in other cookbooks, but I was also able to invite my incredible friends and family into a world I have kept online for years.
What you may see as just a collection of recipes has been a project for me to connect to everything I love in a very unique way.
This project has allowed me to showcase the incredible skills of my photographer and best friend Lowri Bethan Hawkins. It’s also enabled me to bring my incredible mother Paula, my monster of a dog Waffle and my amazing friends into a food world they have supported from the other side of the screen, but are now a part of.
Having them be a part of this project has been my favorite part so far.
The next step in this journey is you being a part of it.
This is a collection of life friendly recipes to connect you to the everyday moments that tell the story of real living.
This mini eBook has been a labor of love and I hope you enjoy it.
I can say with sincerity and honesty that having seen the wonderful comments so far from professionals be it as bloggers, photographers or cooks who have been fortunate to have received this in advance (including myself) this eBook for sure will be appreciated by all those receive it. It was a wonderful insight into how easy it is to create tasty hassle free recipes (favourites being the noodles and brownies!). The photography is amazing and captures not only the recipes but real life with real people living a real life through and incorporating food. Well done Mikey. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed this project and all the hard work that went into creating this so others can also enjoy reading life through food. Well done. As always I’m so very proud of you.
