Get Stuffed is written to make your festive food coma worth it.
I know gifts can be great and there’s something about a baby being born in a barn and stuff, but let’s focus on what really matters over the festive period – the food.
There’s a weird pressure around Christmas cooking. Those who think they can’t cook dread that they have to, and those that can cook hold the pressure of expectation. But it shouldn’t be a time for culinary stresses; only a time to indulge in the magic and joy that food brings to the table it’s placed on.
This eBook is my biggest yet. And rightly so. What we eat over the festive period truly represent what festivity and celebration mean to us, our families and our friends.
So these recipes are my personal celebrations, and I want to celebrate with you.
I was actually petrified to write this eBook because Christmas is so personal to everybody.
To parade into your home and encourage you to cook my recipes during your festive period is an intimate ask because everyone has their own take on what the celebration of food mean to them.
But Christmas is a place where traditions are made, equally as often as they are upheld. So I figured there’s always room at the inn for new suggestions and offers, right?
Remember when you were a kid and your mam would pass you the Argos catalogue? And you’d thumb through it, making big circles around the things you like? Well that’s how I want you to use this eBook.
Take what you want, use them as you see fit and incorporate them into your celebrations in your own wonderful way.
So to make that easier, Get Stuffed is separated out into four sections that will manoeuvre you through the season.
The Seasonal Spread section will feature a handful of foolproof recipes such as Baked Artichoke Dip with Truffle Toasts, Caraway & Brown Sugar Wings and Rarebit Yorkshire Puddings, that you can pull together no matter the size of your party.
A section for The Lead Up Eating is crucial because I refuse to confine my festive gluttony to just one day. Expect delights such as Gnocchi with Sage & Chestnut Butter Sauce, Beef & Port Stew and Orange, Ginger Beer & Smoked Sugar Ham to light up your wintery nights.
Of course then there is The Big Day, containing recipes for you to cherry pick from to bring new ideas and traditions to your Christmas table.
And finally, a section for The Sweet Stuff, because I think it’s scientifically proven that pudding goes to a different part of the belly anyway so there’s always room. So this year make sure you find room for Panettone Bread & Butter Pudding, Chocolate and Pistachio Rye Cookies and Maple & Marmalade Sweet Potato Pie to really round out your festive coma!
